Advanced Manufacturing Park set to create 7,000 UK jobs


Sunderland has received the Planning permission for a new manufacturing facility in the UK. Henry Boot Developments is all set to build the International Advanced Manufacturing Park. There is a plan to build this £400mn facility across 370-acres of land. Additionally it has the capacity to create 7,000 jobs. The site will have two phases with IAMP ONE which will cover 1.6sqft of progressive manufacturing and industrial space, on a span of 150-acres.
The International Advanced Manufacturing Park is located close to Nissan – the large car manufacturing factory in the UK. This will serve as the automotive supply chain for the manufacturer.

Extraordinary opportunity

Vivienne Clements, HBD Director states that IAMP is a Northern Powerhouse offering an extraordinary opportunity to shape an Industrial Strategy. It will supercharge the advanced manufacturing capabilities, of the North East and also allow many businesses to get the benefits from a great skills base port connections, and a productive workforce.

IAMP will help in bringing millions of pounds of investment into the economic area and also assist in regeneration.

Iain Malcolm, South Tyneside Council Leader said that this region has a reputation to be leading in engineering and manufacturing. This Park will increase this reputation and also create an unmatched location to conduct business in this sector.

Furthermore, the vision for the International Advanced Manufacturing Park is now moving towards reality, and we are eager to cooperate with the partners at Sunderland City Council and development partner Henry Boot Developments and the North East LEP. We have the aim to deliver a place which will bring a transformation to the region and the economy.
