A data center set to create 1,100 jobs in Ireland

Dublin and Wicklow are poised to add 1,100 new jobs soon. Echelon Data Centers Ltd, an Irish company, having expertise in data processing and storage, has made an announcement regarding developing two data centers. The places are Clondalkin, Dublin, and Arklow, Co Wicklow.

Details

The firm has its base in Dublin and has invested €1bn in the data centers spanning an area of 89,000 square meters. Its total capacity will also exceed 180MW, as per their claim. Furthermore, this is equivalent to 34% of operational capacity presently available in the country. The company has obtained the planning permission for the Clondalkin site and for Arklow it is about to happen anytime.

Composition

These 1,100 jobs will consist of 460 construction jobs. Besides, there will be 100 operational posts in Clondalkin. The figures for, Arklow are 450 in construction jobs and 90 as operational posts.

Poised for a big role

The owner of Echelon is Aldgate Developments, a property development company that has a base in UK and Ireland. Niall Molloy, CEO Echelon Data Centers, stated that after the completion of these two sites and by combining other sites to be identified and acquired across Europe, Echelon is set to be a major provider of the data center in Europe.
